Atlantic salmon are found throughout the North Atlantic, ranging from western Quebec, Connecticut, and from the Arctic Circle to eastern Portugal. However, in the past 30 years, the number of Atlantic salmon has suffered a devastating decline, with a decline of over 80%. Nowadays, many salmon are on the brink of extinction or have been lost. Wild Atlantic salmon only exists in four countries: Norway, Ireland, Iceland, and Scotland
